Pregnancy & Newborns
Pregnancy is an exciting time for parents-to-be. You want to know as much as you can about your developing baby and how your actions will affect his health.

Your Newborn Baby
Sleeping, eating, crying, cooing—your new arrival will keep you busy. You'll soon figure out his or her patterns and preferences.

Labor and Delivery

Weatherford Regional Medical Center’s Maternal/Newborn Center offers the latest in continuity of care for both mother and baby. From the specialized labor and delivery suites to the beautiful private rooms, this private unit of the hospital offers the best. Two operating rooms and a post anesthesia care unit are located within the area, so a new mom never has to leave the center. Our birthing suites were specially designed to allow your baby to "room in" with you, but when you need your rest, 24 hour nursery care is also available.

Childbirth Classes

A five week childbirth class is offered to for parents to be. The course covers birthing issues such as growth and development of the baby, nutrition and exercise for the mother, relaxation and pain relief techniques for birthing, breast or bottle feeding and c-section information. Parents-to-be will also learn about post-partum care and newborn baby care.

On the final night, Infant CPR taught according to American Heart Association guidelines will be taught. A tour of the Maternal Newborn Center is included. You will receive a confirmation by phone on Monday of the first week of class. You may call the Maternal Newborn Department at 817-599-1122 with any questions. Weatherford Regional Medical Center does require at least 5 expectant mothers with partner/coaches for each class.
