Weatherford Regional Offers Free Wi-Fi

WEATHERFORD, TEXAS – In order to better meet the needs of our patients and visitors, Weatherford Regional Medical Center (WRMC) is pleased to now offer guests free Wireless Fidelity (Wi-Fi) access in many areas of the hospital.
 Connecting is quick and easy.  Activate wireless networking on your laptop or mobile device and select Hospital Guest Wireless Network.  Launch any web browser and click agree on the Terms & Conditions page.  That’s all there is to it.
 An information brochure available for patients, visitors and staff provides answers to frequently asked questions.

Q: What type of laptop or wireless device do I need to access wireless guest Internet?
A: There are no specific requirements for device type.  Any device capable of supporting 802.11b or 802.11g wireless networks should work on the guest wireless system.

Q: Who do I contact if I have trouble using the hospital guest wireless network?
A: Unfortunately, the hospital information systems staff cannot troubleshoot or support non-hospital devices.  This service is offered “as-is” and there are no guarantees of performance or ability to connect to the wireless network.

Q: Where is the wireless network available in the hospital?
A: Wireless access is available throughout the hospital, including patient rooms, lobby, cafeteria, and other public areas.

Q: What can I access once connected?
A: You can access any available resources on the Internet. This system may block content deemed to be inappropriate to hospital standards.  Some applications or protocols may not work on the wireless network.  This system is not intended for file sharing or large file downloads.

Q: Can I plug my device into a wall jack?
A: No, you cannot access the hospital “wired” network.  Only wireless access is available.

Q: Are “Public IP” addresses available?
A: No, this system does not provide public IP addresses for guest devices.

Q: Are loaner laptops available for patient or guest use?
A: No, we do not have laptops available for loan
