New Cardiac Critical Care Unit
Weatherford Regional Medical Center Opens Eight-bed Specialized Unit
WEATHERFORD, TEXAS (August 27 2012) - Weatherford Regional’s Cardiac Critical Care Unit (CCCU) is the first and only cardiac unit in Parker County. A vital part of Weatherford Regional Medical Center’s (WRMC) Heart & Vascular Center, the CCCU provides specialized care for patients experiencing symptoms associated with heart conditions or heart disease,.
The CCCU is part of a multi-phase, $53 million expansion Weatherford Regional has made in the past three years. “Our commitment is to provide Parker County residents healthcare that’s close to home, and this new unit is clear evidence of that commitment,” says Donna Boone, R.N., B.S.N., M.S.N., chief nursing officer at WRMC. Boone went on to say, “The CCCU allows patients to rest and recover more peacefully, while specially trained nurses and physicians oversee their care.”
The CCCU features spacious private patient rooms with large windows and a layout that promotes family-centered care. “The CCCU rooms are almost hotel-like in their size and amenities such as flat panel televisions and large bathrooms,. It also offers.” advanced technology, such as integrated and centralized monitoring as well as oximetry measurements that assist in proving patients with care that is appropriate and timely,”, Boone said.

The CCCU is the final component of the Phase II expansion that added more than 46,000 square feet to the Weatherford Regional campus including 52 private patient rooms, a cardiac catheterizations lab, an enhanced endoscopy suite and additional parking.
